for their 2008 Appeal !

Normandy Veteran's Select 215 Cadet for 'Holocaust Day'

Sergeant Sarah Flower has been selected to carry the Normandy Veterans Association National Standard at the Grand Theatre, Swansea for the National Holocaust Memorial Day. The Squadron is hoping to parade 60 Cadets at the Grand for this very somber occasion.

Lord Mayor's Inauguration - May 2005

Chief Fire Officer of Mid and West Wales Fire Service Individual Endeavour Award 04/05
Instructor Flight Sergeant Lauren Crahart (f) was presented with the Mid and West Wales Fire Service Individual Endeavour Award by Divisional Officer Richard Fry in January 2005. The award recognized her outstanding effort in raising over £2000 for the RBL 'Poppy Appeal' in 2004.

Chief Constable of South Wales Police Unit Endeavour Award 04/05
Cadets of 215 were presented with the prestigious Unit Endeavour Award in January 2005 after raising over £11,000 for the Royal British Legion 'Poppy Appeal' street collections throughout the City and County of Swansea. The Squadron also delivered over 600 'Poppy Boxes' to local establishments throughout the appeal period and raised a further £18,000. (Joint total of £29,000)

The Swansea Branch raised a total of £36,000 during the 2004 Appeal, which is the highest amount collected in the Branch's long and distinguished history.


Cadets raise over £4000 for Cancer Research UK in 2004
The Lord Mayor of the City and County of Swansea , Councillor Margaret Smith presented the Cadets with a Certificate of Commendation on behalf of Cancer UK for their fund raising prowess at the semi finals of the FA Cup at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, which took place in May 2004.

The presentation was made in the Lord Mayors Parlour, in the prescence of the Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodore Chitty at the RBL Festival of Remembrance in November 2004.


Royal British Legion Opening Ceremonies 2004
The Lord Mayor and Deputy Lord Lieutenant attended the Opening Ceremony for the Garden of Remembrance at Swansea Market, where Cadets of 215 provided a Guard of Honour and Standard Bearers.

Cadets 'Trick or Treat' for RBL Poppy Appeal 2004
Cadets of 215 raise funds for the launch of the Poppy Appeal by donating their 'Trick or Treat'
collections to the Swansea Branch.

Royal British Legion Remembrance Parade 2004
Squadron Band leads Ceremonial Parade for local dignitaries, which include the Commandant Air Cadets Air Commodore Chitty, who was the 'Chief Guest' of the Swansea Branch of the Royal British Legion for the Festival of Remembrance at the Brangwyn Hall.




Royal Air Force Association 'Wings Appeal 2004'

Over 35 Cadets attended the 'Wings Appeal' Collections throughout the Swansea City Centre where they raised over £1500 for
this appeal. RAFA Committee members officiated throughout the collections, which were spread over a Saturday and Sunday in September 2004.

The RAFA Swansea Branch also attended the Squadron Headquarters, where they held a Service of Commemoration for the Dedication Board, which is mounted in the Main Hall of the Squadron Headquarters.

One of the names displayed on the Memorial Board is the son of Sir Arthur Whitten Brown, who was killed in action
flying a Spitfire over Normandy on 'D' Day.

Two founder members of the Squadron in 1941 attended the RAFA Memorial Service at the Squadron Headquarters in
September 2004, where they met all the Cadets and compared the current Squadron facilities and activities with those available in
the early 1940's.

Mr Jack Ellis now lives in Malta and Mr Harry Parvin lives in Swansea.

The high profile 'Heineken Cup' rugby match between Cardiff and Swansea was the venue for the Air Ambulance Collections.

Twenty-eight Cadets attended to collect for this Charity, where they halped raise over £1500.
