'IT'S A £5000 RECORD AS 215 REACH FOR THE SKY !'

Cadets and Staff of 215 are to be presented with three trophies in the near future:

1. The Best Collection South West Wales Area
2. Best Individual Collection for South West Wales
3. RAFA Swansea Branch 'Wings Appeal' Trophy.

The Cadets and Staff collected the highest amount recorded since the formation of the Swansea Branch of the Royal Air Force Association and were placed second overall in Wales.
215 was runner up to Barry Branch - not an ATC Unit but by an actual Branch.

We are still awaiting figures to see if 215 collected the highest figure in Great Britain within the ATC.

"Never Surrender"

"We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air. We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing-grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills. We shall never surrender!"

' THEIR FINEST HOUR '

"The Few"

"The gratitude of every home in our island, in our Empire, and indeed throughout the world, except in the abodes of the guilty, goes out to the British airmen who, undaunted by odds, unwearied in their constant challenge and mortal danger, are turning the tide of the world war by their prowess and by their devotion. Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few. "

'Lancaster Rear-Gunner Honours the Fallen'

Civilian Instructor Dennis Pass has committed hundreds of hours investigating the history of members of the Royal Air Force who died in the Second World War and originated from Swansea.

The Memorial Board, which depicts the names of these RAF Personnel hangs proudly in the Main Hall of the Squadron Headquarters, but no one has actually studied their background or in fact where they now rest.

Four superb volumes are now displayed for the public to view at St. Mary's Church, Swansea in a glass case.
